AREMI is continuing its agile development approach with ongoing user consultation and feedback. If you’re interested in helping make AREMI more useful for you, contact us by email at; by phone: 02 6267 6261; or by filling out our survey hereCanberra Workshop Nov14

Since the beginning of the project, the AREMI team organised consultation workshops, interviews, surveys and usability testings to identify the target users and their data and functionalities needs in relation to AREMI. Consultations organised between September 2014 and June 2015 revealed that AREMI user groups are: developers; network service providers; financiers & consultants; government; research and academia; and community (individuals, associations etc.). The main data sets requested by user groups are related to electricity infrastructure and generation; land characteristics and cadastral information; transport infrastructure; renewable resources (especially wind, solar, bio energy); population and other economic indicators. In terms of functionality, users would like to see clear and comprehensive legends and metadata; possibility of sharing both private and public data. They would also like to visualise and download data by areas selected; and to overlay multiple datasets without losing clarity.

Findings from consultations undertaken so far drive current development. Interviews, usability testings and beta panels will continue in the next AREMI development stages. The team is now working on gathering more views from user groups such as: network service providers (especially with off grid knowledge), financiers and local governments.

At the same time, the dedicated AREMI User Experience team is receiving ongoing feedback through email, survey link and phone. The feedback is then part of the next AREMI design stage.
