Wireless Inner Receiver Design: Aspects of Synchronisation, Parameter Estimation and DSP Implementation

Here we look into robust synchronisation and parameter estimation techniques for inner receiver design for applications specific systems. Synchronisation techniques for single carrier systems, multi-carrier systems with linear or nonlinear modulations with MIMO based transmission needs to be addressed differently. The synchronisation system also depends on the background noise, interference, acquisition and steady state performance requirements. Our main goals here are to come up with robust synchronisation techniques and perform statistical analysis on the performances; we also look into the extension of threshold points of the synchronisation schemes such for frequency, phase and timing synchronisation. The synchronisation techniques are to be implemented on hardware for experimental analysis in a real world scenario using the standard wireless interfaces.
