Hello, welcome to my NICTA home page.

My Work

Currently I work for NICTA"s DSIM (Decision Support for Incident Management) project. The DSIM project aims to develop a new generation of decision support systems (DSS) for large and complex mission-critical information systems, such as those used in transport management centres, large-scale operation planning centres, emergency and crisis management centres. My research focus is on:

• architecture design of a DSS that supports optimisation of joint human and machine interactive system;
• key technologies of the DSS, such as incident response plans, cognitive task design etc; and
• human computer interfaces that are adaptive to users' affective and cognitive state and needs. 

My other research interests include:

• computer and machine vision; and
• FPGA-based embedded system development.

About Me...

I have a PhD in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering, granted in France. Prior to joining NICTA, I worked in France, Britain, the US and China. In life, my personal interests include cosmology, history, philosophy, music, and soccer. I'm fascinated by these three questions and the possible answers to them: 1) the origin and destination of the universe; 2) the origin and meaning of human life; and 3) the nature of time. The search for the answers is the path to my spiritual enlightenment. I dream of more globe-trotting, and have already set foot on six continents in the world. I can speak or understand six languages. One phrase I like very much which says a lot about me is: "The world is full of fascinating people to meet, beautiful places to explore, rich opportunities to pursue. Reach out, discover how different we all are, and how very much alike."
