Ola Rinta-Koski

Ola Rinta-Koski is a Research Engineer in the SAFE Information work package in the Smart Applications For Emergencies (SAFE) Project at NICTA's Queensland Research Laboratory.

Previous positions

Prior to joining NICTA, Mr Rinta-Koski was working as a Software Engineer at Cyclades Australia Pty Ltd. His earlier positions include Grand Vizier of Technology at Cyberell Oy, a bioinformatics software company in Helsinki, Finland, and Business Unit Manager of the Risk Management unit at HEX Software Technology (part of Helsinki Exchanges). His previous employers also include the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT) and the Helsinki University of Technology (TKK).

Qualifications

Mr Rinta-Koski holds a Master of Science in Technology degree from the Helsinki University of Technology, where he is currently enrolled as a postgraduate student and studying for a Licentiate of Technology degree.

Research interests

Information fusion, metadata, domain-specific languages, functional languages, pattern recognition, machine learning and human/computer interaction.
