1990: PhD, Australian National University (ANU).
1985: Bachelor of Science (Honours 1st Class), ANU.
John is a Harvard Business School graduate (Program for Management Development (2002), ATSE fellow, ATSE Clunies Ross Medallist (2010) and conjoint Professor University of New South Wales (UNSW) School of Biomedical Engineering. John is an experienced director of both listed and non-listed companies and CRC's.
Employment History
Since August 2008, John has been pursuing his interest in neuro-stimulation and its application as head of the Implant Systems research project a NICTA.
John joined Cochlear Ltd in 1994 from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden and was appointed an executive director of the company in 2002.
John has experience in working in every aspect of commercialisation of R&D, from pure research through to full industrialisation. John has also worked in both Australian and international universities. He has authored numerous scientific publications and patents.
