NICTA's annual technology showcase, Techfest 2008, held on May 1 attracted over 200 external guests. The Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator the Hon. Stephen Conroy, officially addressed the attendees, met with researchers and viewed demonstrations from over 20 research projects being undertaken at NICTA.
Projects on display included outstanding research across a number of business areas including Biomedical and Life Sciences, Intelligent Transport Systems, Safety and Security, Environmental Management, Mobile Systems and Services and Software Infrastructure.
Held at NICTA’s Canberra Research Laboratory, Techfest was a great opportunity for NICTA to showcase its leading-edge technology to the business and research communities, as well as venture capital companies and potential partners. It also proved to be an excellent opportunity for industry attendees to investigate collaborations and develop commercial opportunities.
