Mobile malware research hits the media pages

Mobile Systems Research Group Leader Prof. Aruna Seneviratne has appeared across a broad range of online and print media talking about a recently published paper that looks at mobile malware; Seneviratne, S., Seneviratne, A., Kaafar, D., Mahanti, A., Mohapatra, P.  Early Detection of Spam Mobile Apps, International World Wide Web Conference (WWW), Florence, May 2015.

The research shows that one in four android apps has a excessive number of unrelated “trackers”. These trackers can then funnel your personal information to third parties.
