AREMI March News

Published on March 16, 2016

Welcome to the third AREMI newsletter! We are delighted to update you on the AREMI highlights since October 2015 and next steps. We now have over 250 data layers, with electricity infrastructure and renewable resources among the top three, according to the number of datasets in each group. Highlights include wind data from DNV GL, solar data from the Bureau of Meteorology, communication infrastructure from Australian Communications and Media Authority, and population data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics. In the next couple of months, AREMI will include cadastral and land tenure data from PSMA and Geoscience Australia, the Australian Wave Atlas from CSIRO, solar satellite data for the past 25 years from the Bureau and an update of the Network Opportunity Mapping from the Institute of Sustainable Futures.
