NICTA flies flag for Australian ICT innovation at CeBIT Hannover
For the first time, NICTA, Australia’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Research Centre of Excellence, will exhibit at the world’s largest ICT trade fair, CeBIT Hannover. Our debut follows six continuous years of participation in CeBIT Australia.“We are taking nine teams to CeBIT where they will have the opportunity to introduce Australian-invented IT and Communications to the world stage,” says NICTA’s Director of Commercialisation and Markets, Rob Fitzpatrick. “Businesses based on these inventions are answering the hard questions and creating technologies to meet important challenges in critical sectors like health care, national security and transport. Giving our teams the chance to engage with industry at the world’s largest IT and Communications trade fair is ambitious, timely and underscores NICTA’s commitment to write IT into the bottom line of Australia’s economy.”
CeBIT Hannover is the world’s largest ICT trade fair. Last year it attracted over 400,000 visitors and 4,300 exhibitors from 69 countries. The event targets users from the ICT industry, the wholesale and retail sectors, skilled trades, banks, services, Government agencies and science sectors. CeBIT Hannover opens tomorrow, Tuesday 2 March and runs through to Saturday 6 March.
