Canberra’s digital innovators from industry, research and government come together to find out who has won the $12,500 top prize at the Digital Canberra Challenge

All eyes will be on Canberra’s digital innovators this 20th of November, as ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr announces the winner and runner up of the Digital Canberra Challenge Awards. The award ceremony will be held in the Peninsula Room at the National Museum of Australia, where Minister Barr will award the winner with $12,500 for first prize.

The finalists have been selected from a pool of 11 Canberra-based innovators in July this year, with the winners decided upon by a panel of expert judges, including Digital Canberra Challenge Chair, Anthony Henshaw and Sarah Pearson, CEO and CCO at the CBR Innovation Network.

The Digital Canberra Challenge is an ACT Government initiative run by the eGov Cluster, which is hosted by Data61. The innovation competition engages Canberra’s brightest minds to help build and support a dynamic, healthy and prosperous digital city for the 21st Century.

Michael Phillips, Manager at eGov Cluster said: “Since its inception, Minister Barr has been supportive of The Digital Canberra Challenge and continues to be a big advocate, as the initiative continues to shine a national spotlight on the calibre of our local innovation scene. It has been great to see the teams work so well together to develop a proof of concept that can have a real impact in Canberra.

“I’d encourage everyone from industry, government, and all those who want to learn more about Canberra’s digital future to attend the awards event and celebrate the culture of innovation with us.”
