National Computer Science School
NICTA is both a sponsor and contributes to the running of the National Computer Science School (NCSS).
The NCSS supplements the opportunity for secondary students to learn computer programming with high quality coursework developed by university and industry professionals. The NCSS hosts two main events each year open to high school students across Australia:
The NCSS Challenge
- A five-week online computer programming competition that teaches computer programming, commencing in July/August each year.
The NCSS Summer School
- A ten-day residential at the University of Sydney, held in early January each year
NICTA has developed Embedded Systems Programming coursework that is delivered at each NCSS event. Each course makes use of the "NICTA ed1" embedded systems board.
For more information and to enrol visit the NCSS web site at www.ncss.edu.au.
