NICTA (National ICT Australia) offers a range of attractive scholarships to PhD students undertaking a NICTA-enhanced PhD with member and partner universities.
NICTA PhD scholarships:
- Require a university-approved research training program aligned with NICTA research
- Offer financial support according to student circumstances (through a mix of primary, supplementary and tuition fee scholarships)
- Are available to local and international students
- Provide prestigious awards to outstanding students
- Are awarded under merit-ranking processes, typically twice per year
- Are university-specific in both value and conditions
- May be held in conjunction with other designated scholarships (including APA, EIPRS and university-funded equivalent awards)
- Are awarded through the universities for periods up to four years, with annual reviews
- Involve intellectual property considerations – including assignment IP.
Scholarships are offered independently by NICTA research laboratories that have agreements with local partner universities regarding collaboration in PhD research training. These laboratories are currently located in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane.
