  • Practical research, industry and domain experience, locally and internationally
  • Professional skills development such as project management, commercialisation and communication

  • Opportunities to work on development and commercialisation projects
  • A possible research pathway to commercialisation
  • Research internships and exchanges with international ICT research centres and universities
  • World-class infrastructure.

While NICTA's educational activities are focused primarily on PhD-level students, opportunities also exist for various levels of engagement with a wide variety of students. These include:

  • Undergraduate thesis supervision, including honours scholarships
  • Intensive short courses for graduates in industry to provide an introduction to NICTA’s research agenda.

NICTA is also working with its partner universities to support outreach programs aimed at attracting pre-tertiary students into ICT with a particular focus on trying to encourage more women to enter the industry.
