Decision Support for Incident Management (DSIM) - Emergency responses, call centre processes and athletic performance can all be enhanced by a better understanding of the mental effort required for an individual to perform a given task. We are researching and developing core technologies for a new generation of human computer interfaces that will support critical decision-making for users in high-performance and time-critical environments.

Human Performance Modelling for Next Generation Traffic Management - Many ICT implementations in safety systems fail because the complex needs of users were not understood, or properly taken into account. To prevent such failures, we are developing techniques and tools for modelling users’ needs in the areas of healthcare and air traffic control, so they can be addressed early in development cycles.
